I was in Ensenada on the Norwegian cruise ship on November 12 looking for a jewelry store to buy a Diamond ring. I was approached by a man outside of a jewelry who advertised to me that the Sun and Moon jewelry store was another place I could shop if I didn’t find anything I liked in that one. He had a fully display case of jewelry with diamonds, gold and different gemstones in ring, chain and bracelet version among other items. I had my girlfriend try on and pick out a ring we liked and paid a about $3,200 USD for it. He performed what he called tests which are supposed to advertise the realness of the diamond but we had to get it resized since it didn’t fit so he took it out of our site to do that and either he swapped it with a phony or the Diamond was never real to begin with. I got home the following week and immediately got it appraised and the jeweler stated that the ring is only worth $200 USD since it’s Cubic Zirconium and not a real diamond like what was advertised. The address on the receipt says they’re located at Primera NO 588 Baja California Ensenada 8270649 Caja 1 but a business called Playeras Hussongs comes up when I search for it on the internet. They don’t have a business phone number or customer service email to contact them about my issue. The man at the jeweler said he’s currently endorsed by Royal Caribbean cruise as a reputable jeweler as well as in the process of doing so with other ships but that was obviously a lie and he’s running a scam on unsuspecting tourists coming off the cruise ships.
