1. My husband and I parked at a Gettysburg, PA parking meter on 03/08/2925 at approximately 12:35 pm behind a restaurant called O’Rorkes, located at 44 Steinwehr Avenue, Gettysburg, PA 17325. There was a sticker on the parking meter that indicated I could pay on line or by phone. I tried to call, and it didn’t work. I was in a hurry. I put my credit card information into the site. My Discover immediately denied the charge by text. It was fir $39.85. I called Discover. They stopped the charge. I checked my email. I received a welcome email that stated I had subscribed to a movie and music service. I was informed that I would only have 3-days to cancel, and that my subscription started when I opened the email. There is no phone number to cancel. There are no instructions how to cancel. I emailed them. I stated that I did not want their service. I saw on line that ABC News had posted that this meter scam happened in 2024, and they provided a Gettysburg Police Department POC number. I called them at 9:51 pm today, 03/08/2025, at phone number (717)334-8101. Traffic meter enforcement officer Laudilo (so) returned a call at 9:59 pm today, 03/08/2025. He was going out to check the meters fir unauthorized stickers. He told me that this had happened in the past. My concern is that this company was going to charge me every month. I have the email. I don’t see where I can attach it to this complaint.
