Wacker Chemie Skype Interview

I received an email from the HR Department of Wacker Chemie AG (no name on the email sender) saying they saw my resume on Careerbuilder and wanted to set up an interview for a Remote Data Entry position.
They said to log into Skype and contact the HR hiring manager and tell her you're interested in the position and want to set up an interview between 8 and 4.
I did go on Skype, added this person as a contact. Then messaged her. She started typing immediately. We did not do any FaceTime, just typing, which I thought was strange.
The interview took about 30 minutes. She thought I was the perfect person for the job and wanted to talk to her supervisor and asked me to wait. Thirty minutes later she came back and told me I was hired for the position.
She went into detail of how they would be sending me a check to cover the cost of the 'working materials' (software, etc) needed for the job at home. They would send the check FedEx. I was to be on Skype at 8:00 am the next day to get instructions and an update on the check info. Once I received the check and let it clear, then I was to purchase the software.
I was told there would be one week of training and orientation and that was when I would fill out the employee paperwork.
The job paid $35 an hour, full time or part time. And after the two month probation time was full benefits. They said they were opening a new location in east Arlington, TX and that was why I was emailed about an interview.
I was to receive an email with a letter of employment, which I was to print, sign and return to the HR hiring manager. I never received that email.
They asked me to email the HR Department with my full name, address and phone number so they could add me to the company roster.
I put the scam report on the HR Manager's Skype so they will know their scam has been busted!

I was contacted via email by said Wacker Chemie AG LLC HR for a position that I didn't apply for. The email said they found my resume on Career Builder in which I do have my resume on the site. The email was very generic not even having a name as to who was emailing me. This person told me to contact another person via Skype to setup a time for an interview. I did. I thought the company would use the call feature for the interview but they used the chat feature instead. That was red flag #1. #2 Came when they person told me they would send me a check in the mail to deposit and purchase all the required material. They said that I would receive an offer letter but it never came. When asked about it they said it would come once I started orientation. I did research the company name that they were using. Its a legitimate company but they are not hiring for Data Entry employees. I reached out to the actual company via email but they didn't respond. Today I received another email from the HR who said my check for the material was sent via Fedex and gave me the tracking number and instructions to deposit the check then contact her via text which is the phone number I provided in this report. When talking to the other person via skype chat they sent me a screen shot of the status of the package containing the check being sent to me. At that point it said it was in transit via fedex but it was already delivered and I had already noticed several red flags. The company is located in Michigan but the address on the FedEx label said GNA, Kenansville, NC. There was a letter inside from another person with a 2nd company on the letter head. I looked this company up its out of Canada. And then there was a check for $4732.87 with yet another company name on the top of the check which is a trucking company with an address in Florida. The bank was wells Fargo in San Fransisco California. I looked that bank up there were two but have both been closed for some time now. I don't intend on depositing the check and I didn't provide any other information other than my name and address but this should be looked into so it prevents someone else from getting taken for all there money.
