JAMLahNY sent unsolicited mail stating that "A yearly test if the backflow device on your building's plumbing is required by your water department and state law .." quoting NYS Sanitary Code 5-1.31. The sanitary code quoted is not for private well, homeowner occupied residences. JAMLabNY is using NYS code to mail scare tactic post cards to private residences implying that it is a NY State code law and mandatory for homeowners. This scam is targeting private homeowners who may not be aware that the "code" is being misrepresented.
