Was looking for a Chihuahua for our family which includes a mentally handicapped person that we care for, thinking it would be good to have for him. Found a website called familychihuahuas.com left information to be emailed and texted about a female dog named Mina. Then was later texted by someone named Mitchel Adore who said all of their pups were $700, with a $150 delivery fee by airline. Became suspicious then cause even I know it cost way more to ship an animal by plane. Did a facebook search and check with a local breeder who confirmed that it looked scammy.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I submitted online a request to purchase a chihuahua, selecting a dog named Buddy. Then a person by the name Anthony Davis texted me that he was the owner of buddy. I asked a few questions about the age & size he was going to be. We had an extensive conversation as I am not tech savvy & I was having trouble doing the things he requested. Finally after receiving the bill of sale that he asked me to sign (I had trouble signing) I screenshot the information back to him. I went through the Zelle app for 5/3 bank. First time I tried to send the money to the wrong address. It was just setting there. I tried to use an app flutterwave to use my credit card but it wouldn’t take it. At that point I told Mr. Davis I would have to call my bank win the morning & ask them to cancel the Zelle payment . Saturday morning I did have that first attempt cancelled . I reissued the $800.00 to the correct account which was [email protected] and it was received. He said Buddy would be transported shortly by star world pet travel. The next issue was Sunday when I received a text saying that Buddy was on hold at the airport because he needed a temperature controlled crate & that would be an additional $1500. I had already begun to feel as if there was something going on. I told him that I could not send more money. He then said that he would pay half and I could pay the other half. He said that we would receive a refund upon delivery & I could send him back his half. I asked if he ever had this happen before& he said this company had been very good. At this point I no longer responde.
