Responded to an online ad for a free golden retriever puppy. They offered us the last 2 they had left, we would only have to pay for the delivery from Winnipeg MB to LaSalle ON. Next day got an email from the shipping company. It started with only $700 for the flight to be paid in Moon Pay crypto currency. Then I had to pay $1500 (totally refundable in cash with the courier) for a proper pressure container for the puppies flight. This was on the same day, also paid via Moon Pay. The puppies were to arrive the next morning. They did not. I called the company, where are my puppies? They responded with I need to pay another $1225 (also totally refundable) for insurance, but this time asked to be paid by prepaid Vanilla MasterCards. So I contacted the owner of the dogs ********. Told him what was going on. I told him that I can't afford it, he offered to go to the company and give them $500 towards the insurance certificate. I had to come up with the rest $750, again in Vanilla MasterCards. Sent them the information. They said that the puppies would definitely be here in the morning.

They emailed me again that evening, saying that they needed another $500 (totally refundable) to be paid via a Vanilla MasterCard for a Cite Certification as the puppies were now in Ontario. They even had a picture of the Hamilton police as a part of the email.

At that time I asked her name and she replied ***********. She promised that the puppies were to arrive in the morning. They did not.

The next morning received another email say that they needed another payment of $800 ($700 was totally refundable), this was for the licenses.

At this point, we called local police. Made a Scam/Fraud report that would be reviewed and sent to the RCMP.

I needed to report this to you. Lesson learned, as we should have known better.
