Total money lost $300
Type of a scam Nigerian/Foreign Money Exchange
in Georgia on google and it brought me to a website called
dogsnow.com. After finding the right puppy for me I click on a
button that would allow me to contact the seller and then it opened
a new web page called dogs.oodle.com. From there we texted the
seller that we were interested in buying their puppy and waited for
a response. After getting a response the seller asked us to e-mail
him and when we did they gave us a paragraph about the puppy and why
they were giving their puppy away. I can't believe I believed it. I
talked my husband into it and started the shipping process. In the
e-mail they gave us step by step instructions on what was going to
happen. They said that we now would be paying the shipper and that
they would contact us. So not long after we got an e-mail from the
shippers a service called fastpetsmovers.com. I got a call from the
number +1 (435) 574-9426. The man talked to me and confirmed our
information that we had given him in the e-mail. He was kind of hard
to understand because of his Nigerian accent. Next he instructed us
to wire $300 into an account provided in the e-mail. So being the
fool I was made my husband wire money straight to him. After that he
confirmed it with us through a few phone calls and e-mails and said
he would start the shipping process. And that he would call again
after booking a flight for our puppy. When I got the call he said he
sent us another e-mail asking for more money because he needed to
purchase a new electronical crate to transfer the puppy. The my
heart sanked because I then knew I had just been a victim of fraud.
He was asking for another $1000 to $2000. I told him that I was not
going to pay anything else and it was not a part of the agreement
that was made. He then tried to change my mind by telling me that
the money would be refunded back to me when I received the puppy.
After telling him no again He said he would then get a hold of the
seller and that they might be able to help me out. This time when
the seller messaged me back it was a whole new grammar and in it the
seller who had previously been using propper English grammar
changed. He then referred to me as madam, which was what the
Nigerian man had called me multiple times over the phone. After
responding back to him telling him that i was not going to pay
anything else the Nigeria man called me back and pleaded with me to
pay more for the puppy's sake. I told him no again I wanted my money
back. He then replied that he had already spent the money. At this
point I knew I wasn't going to be able to get it back. We hung up
and he attempt to contact my husband and harass him into giving him
more money in order to receive the puppy. As I talked to my husband
he said that we needed to lose all contact with this individual. He
said that we needed to contact the Fbi immediately. We want to make
sure that more people hear about them and it doesn't happen again.
