A man named Brian Gibbs called and texted me that he had a new COVID-19 program by federal government that was going to pay 35% of my house note each month. BUT first I had to send 1800.00 to catch up my escrow account. I was to call him Friday at 3pm CST and to call him on his direct line 914-272-7291, then he would send me over to the account department to collect my money and beginning next month the government would pay 35% of my monthly note. Paying the 1800.00 would mean I could skip paying this monthly payment. I called Home Loan and they said definitely a scam.

Caller identified himself as Brian Gibbs from Fay Servicing. (Fay Servicing is my current mortgages cimpany). He offered a new government mortgage reduction program to me which is backed by HUD.

I told him to use my checking account to withdrawal the funds from. He said that this new program needed a debit card. I gave them my husbands card info. They said that they ran it three times and it did not accept it.

I told them it was a good card.

They want me to go to the post office and get two money orders for the amount. Once I get them call Brian Gibbs back at the same number to have him trll me exactly what to write on the money orders before I send them.
