I wrote to that email and she stated:
Thanks for your interest. The Acoustic Guitar belonged to my late husband. It holds significant sentimental value as it was a beloved instrument that he cherished deeply. Even though I'm not really musically inclined, I always enjoyed watching my husband play. However, due to my lack of musical connection, I have made the decision to find a new home for the guitar rather than selling it. And I am looking to offer it to someone who can appreciate and care for it as much as he did.
I used to live with my husband in Nevada before his passing. Since then, I have moved away from there, but the guitar remains in Nevada with the movers that assisted me with moving my properties to my new apartment. I can connect you with the mover’s company to facilitate the move. I believe it shouldn't cost so much since the distance can be recovered in a day or two.
The guitar is in a perfect condition and I believe that the guitar should be appreciated by someone who values its history and beauty. Thank you for considering taking care of the guitar. I am hopeful that it will find a new owner who will cherish it as much as my late husband did.
Warm regards,
Dr Avery Seth
I replied asking for the information and she wrote:
Thanks for your response and I really appreciate your kind words. I got through to the movers now letting them know they will move the guitar. The rep I spoke with said you should go on their website at www.safemoverinc.com and chat with an agent via the live chat on their website to get the cost and to have it rerouted. She also said you should present this reference ID: PDBAN311GUR letting the agent know Dr Avery referred you. I am hoping the cost wouldn’t be too much for you so you can have it rerouted and I will be looking forward to seeing pictures of it in your beautiful home. Get through to the movers and give me an update on how it goes.
Thanks
Dr Avery Seth
The exchange seemed suspicious and seemed that they would ask for money to deliver the guitar and then not follow through. I went to the website and it seemed legit but other details were missing, so I searched for the business registration, google street view of the business's stated address, and it did not seem legit. I googled searched and found a similar scam reported on bbb.org with a similar scenario (free instrument, delivery middleman, same wording in the email). I never contacted them to inquire but I would advise others to be cautious of this scam.
