I was contacted on Fb messenger by someone I thought was my friend, apparently his account has been hacked but I didn't know that at the time. They told me of a gov. grant "Green Energy Grant" and "the workers and retired compensation appeals board grant" they asked me for all sorts of data and personal info and I gave too much info to them before I figured out it was a scam, which happened when they asked me for $850 to "process the grant" and when my "friend" couldn't call me, I began to suspect a scam. I repeatedly asked for him to call me and each time I received a different excuse as to why he couldn't call me. He kept telling me to trust him that this was for real, and it went on and on for days. I've reported this to virgin mobile as this is my cell phone carrier and I was having issues accessing my account info. They said they were aware of the scam and would follow up.
