On September 21, I followed through with the scammers request and was contact by an attorney named Sussie Fox. She, also a scammer, pretending to be an attorney, said she would be representing me through the application process of the federal grant. She requested me to fill out a questionnaire with my personal information. I did and sent back to Sussie. She said that I would be hearing from a Federal Grand Agent notifying me if I was eligible, via text . A little while later I received text from Federal Grand Agent James, say I was eligible to receive the grant. I was to contact my attorney for further instructions.(the phone number above is the from the text I received)
The attorney the sent me a list of grants in dollar amounts from 15K to 300K along with a case fee. Whatever amount of grant I would like to receive then I would send her payment when I was ready to proceed further. I told her I would need to think about this. On, September 25, 2018 I responded to Sussie to send her a payment. She said I would need to make payment by money order or cashiers check and sent to an address through Federal Express. I was unable to get to a FedEx branch and what other options of payment I could us. She said that I could by Amazon Gift Cards in dollar amount increments needed. I was to scratch off codes and send her a picture of each gift card along with the receipts with all four corners showing. I did this is the amount I needed to pay.
I was then told that the gift cards were confirmed and that by email I would be hearing from the insurance company that would be insuring my grant delivery. The Lead Company" (insurance) contacted me requesting an insurance fee of $2,000. and to contact my attorney when I was ready to pay the fee. Against my better judgement I proceeded.
I wasn't able to pay the whole amount. I contacted my fb friend that referred letting her know that I wasn't able to pay the whole feel and asked if she could help me. She said she would help me with half of the fee. I then applied for a title to ge the amount I needed. I was actually assisted by my fb friend with $800. Again, I purchased Amazon Gift Cards for $1,000. My fb friend said she wasn't able to get Amazon Gift Cards to pay from all of her part and said the attorney let her pay the rest with iTune gift cards. We both sent pictures of our gift cards to the attorney. Sussie said she would need to confirm the gift cards and when confirmed she would contact me. Also, that she would notify the delivery team to proceed with the delivery of grant money.
The next day on September 28, 2018 I contacted the attorney to find out the status of my delivery. (my fb friend said that once she paid her fees she received her grant money by FedEx). The attorney said that the the delivery team was stopped at the border by CIA agents. I then realized I was SCAMMED, big time. I would need to pay another $1,500 to not delay delivery. I told the attorney that I paid an insurance fee and why won't that cover my delivery.
I filed complaint with the Federal Trades Commission and contacted the credit bureau and my bank of my experience. My loss of funds that I calculated is of the gift cards purchased and the total amount I will need to pay back on my title loan.
