Received a phone call from an agency calling themselves as a branch of the government as the federal grant department telling me that I have been selected to receive a free federal grant of $9200 that did not need to be paid back. I was to call this phone number (515)241-5674 or alternate number (518)302-6471 and give them an ID# and find out how to receive the funds. I did this and was told I could go to my Fred Meyer store and call them back and they would talk me through the process. I would get a grant voucher that I would be able to access with a refundable $199 fee. I explained that I would not have the money until my next SSI check, and I reconfirmed that the $199 would be returned. I was told that when I picked up the grant money that would be included. Is this a scam or is it possibly Legit?
