There was a job listing made on Facebook for online work, I inquired and was given someone’s contact (who identified as Micheal Sowinski) to reach out through an app called Telegram, my first red flag.

I went through the interview process, which was normal. Asked basic interview questions and gave job details, even a website. I offered to submit a resume but they just asked what kind of jobs I’ve done. Very vague. The odd thing was the website does not include any phone numbers for contact. It’s based in London, Dublin, and Bermuda. Only email addresses included.

My final interaction was when I was asked to fill out a background check. I noticed something, when I questioned it I was given a good answer but still vague. The longer I took to fill out the form and tell him I submitted it, the more persistent he became, questioning over and over if I had submitted the form. It asked for all the basic things, full name, phone number, date of birth address, and social security. As well as a copy of the front and back of my license. All in all, normal procedure for a background check. The form they asked me to fill out was a google docs link. A google docs form. I am very familiar with google docs forms and am fully aware of where they go when submitted, that is not a standard procedure tool used for companies to conduct a background check. It would be sent directly from whatever company they outsource to for background checks. I’m familiar with the process, this was not the correct process. They asked me to submit all personal information to a google docs form as a “background check”. If I wasn’t familiar with the process of a background check and google docs, this scam could have absolutely stolen my identity.

I was contacted via text by Niall Garner of Fidelis Insurance Group and told to check my zoom for a chat interview request. The zoom profile is under Mr. Mike Pearson (Chief Risk Officer AND Hiring Manager) who seems to be a very low grade chat bot. For about 2 hours he asked basic interviews questions. After "checking in with his team" for about 40 minutes I was informed I got the job and had to respond with my email address so they could send an offer letter the next morning. Instead, he sent the offer letter via Zoom Chat the next morning claiming their domain server was down and would need to do all onboarding via Zoom chat. At this point I stopped responding.

Offer of employment. Remote Data Entry Clerk. Pay too good to be true. Received text stating resume was given to them through Breezy HR/Indeed. Stated job details and information will be explained in said interview that would take place that same day through Microsoft Teams. Was told to enter teams chat and give "verification code". Interviewer asked many job oriented questions, but seemed very copy/paste. Information the "interviewer" said about themselves was ripped right off the website they provided. After all questions were answered, they stated which softwares would be needed and said they would be sending a check to cover the costs of all software and equipment since main office is located in Dublin, Ireland. Asked for basic information that would be found on resume. Email, name, address, city, state, zip, and phone number.

I received a text from a Reserving Analyst named Niall Garner from the Fidelis Insurance Group saying they received my application through LinkedIn for a Live Chat Agent - Remote position, for $31/hr and $19 for training. However, I never applied on LinkedIn. The interview was for the same day that I received the text and it was conducted on zoom but as an instant messaging interview. The interviewer's name was "Mike Pearson" and I was asked multiple regular interview questions nothing suspicious; except when he asked if I wanted to be paid weekly or bi-weekly. After he "talked it over with his team" and I got the job he offered health, dental, and vision care insurance, 401(k) 6% employer match, 10 days paid leave, Flexible work schedule, Dependent Care Account, Health Club Membership (up to $90 per month), Accident and Critical Illness Insurance, and College tuition for children of employees.
