I think it's a scam!

So I got approached with the same scenario but from a different 'company name Vacation Property Excellence https://vacationpropertyexcellence.com/ : "We have a buyer in DR who is ready to buy your timeshare for $22,700." They sent in a 'contract' that had the buyers' names - 'a couple from Canada Charles & Phillis Crochet.' They supposedly got 'stuck' in DR because the US doesn't allow any 'big gatherings'. Vacation Property Excellence wanted me to send them $1500 to their bank in Dominican Republic and the name of the recipient is Yinette Mendez Ramirez. The agent on the phone - Michael who can be reached at (302) 357-9241 - told me to go to the bank and wire the money and tell the bank that the purpose of the payment is 'mortgage fees' so the bank doesn't 'ask any more questions'. I mean look, I called Wyndham where I own the timeshare and I asked for an advice. I wasn't 100% sure if this was a scam even though it did feel like one. I was told to not send any money to these guys. Plus, I went online https://vacationpropertyexcellence.com/reviews/ and the reviews stated "Financial Travel Options" which is a completely different company. What I think happened is these guys create new website every time they get burned, and for their new website they forgot to remove the old reviews. I think it is a scam and I will not send any money to them.

I listed my timeshare in Florida for sale with a rental company. I was contacted by Ralph S****** with Financial Travel Options. He had a Columbian accent. He sent me a sales contract with the buyers name. I am supposed to sign and return it. It's a notarized agreement, but the notary is foreign. He wants me to wire $1500 to account holder G******** P**** M******, account number *********, ****** ********** *** **, San Domingo, Domincan Repblic at Banco Popular Dominicano, ******* ******* ****** *** *** *******, Dominican Republic. The fee is to pay the appraisal fee and lawyer's fees. The sale price $29,000.00. Their website https://financialtraveloptions.com was created: 2020-09-02.
