My story is a few years back but I'm still feeling the aftermath. My ex husband and I purchased a house together. A few years later, we separated. When he moved out, I stayed in said house with our children. In order for us to be able to stay in our house, I applied for a loan modification through First American Mitigators. They assured me success, took $5000 from me and left me facing foreclosure proceedings. BEWARE!
