First Choice Tech Support Reports & Reviews (2)

My mother turned her computer on and had a pop up that indicated her firewall was affected and that she needed to call this number as soon as possible (888-248-6256). She called the number and the rep on the phone was able to get into her computer to look. He told her he could see what was wrong and that if she wanted to he could fix it for her or she could take it to Best Buy but they would charge more. He said that he could save her over $100 if she allowed him to fix it now over the phone and that it would take about 4-5 hours but she did not need to remain on the phone. She told him no that she would take it to Best Buy because she did not know who she was dealing with over the phone and with that the conversation ended on his end. She now will have to pay to have her computer fixed as they have gone in and affected it with viruses. Personally I think this company (First Choice Tech Support) should be responsible to pay for the repairs of her computer and anyone elses that they have scammed. At this time she is having issues with getting on to her computer.

My dilemma: On August 21, 2015 my computer froze with a window of instructions listing a phone number to call in order for assistance in helping me get back into a normal internet service, i.e. emailing and other normal computer uses. The phone number listed within my computer screen window is 1(855)875-1572. The person answering my call was Alex, representing "First Choice Tech Support," which I learned later is a SCAM outfit loaded with very professional computer-Whizz staff members, announcing that they are an arm of Microsoft Windows operating systems.

I can be classified as a natural skeptic, but these folks fed me with 'hook, line and sinker.' I fell for it because of problems I was having with a very slow operating computer for two weeks previous to the operating system freeze. But I should have been much wiser than I am now, after being taken for a $650.00 on-line repair bill. I was so trusting of this scam-artist that I even gave him my checking account number, besides my debit card number. A powerful lesson was learned too late!

After getting a call from my bank, questioning me on the validity of a $250.00 attempt to charge my debit card. I asked for the locale of the card user. "Cyprus," came the response from my bank's scam-reporting-system employee. I immediately had the card charge stopped and a new card is being issued within the next few days; however, I failed to make it clear to my bank checking account person that a scam had hit me and to stop all card and check attempts. Bottom line: I was taken for $650.00 in the end.

I ended having to travel the 70 miles to Best Buy of Orem, Utah to have my computer cleaned of the junk the scammers added to my computer, attempting to hold me hostage to even future computer problems if I did not pay them.

As I said, I'm much more of a skeptic than previously, but what I want to know now from you is: How can this scam-company: "First Choice Tech Support" be taken-down. They are crooks! Obviously they should be put in jail. What can you do to help? Please let me know what I can do to shut them down and lock them up!

My sincere thanks for you help, please!
