they have my business name. they said the bill payment didn't go thru and the technician is in the area and will disconnect the power if we don't make the payment. after i said i will not make a payment over the phone she gave me the 800 number to call and to confirm it is a legit call. it wasn't, the number is not jcpl's customer service.

Yesterday evening about 3:55 pm, I received a call from "First Energy", the man had an accent. He said they had sent me 2 letters advising you that the meters are no longer compatible and I needed a new meter. He said today the meter would automatically shut off if I didn't pay a $395 deposit to get me on the list for a tech to come out and replace the meter. he gave me a work order number of 47583857A. He said I could go to my regular pay center near me or pay through my checking account. I began to panic. I said I have not rec'd a letter and my bills are paid. He said for your inconvenience I can give you a credit of 15 days on your next bill. he said by the time I get home, I will not have power as it is scheduled to shut off in the next couple of hours. He stayed on the line with me, directing me on how to pay through my checking account. I called First Energy, I was transferred, and asked if my meter was going to be shut off. I was on hold for 5 minutes, then the call dropped.
