CANNOT UNDERSTATE how HORRIBLE this company is. They've changed their name multiple times to avoid detection! Any 5-star reviews you seen online...you should question them as complete lies. Notice how there are only 1-star and 5-star reviews? Isn't that fishy?
"Travis Scott", if that's even his real name, called me multiple times, promised me an amazing move, never disclosed that First United is a "broker" only. He pestered me until I was finally suckered in to paying them a large deposit for an expensive move, which he quoted as a couple thousand less than the next best offer out there. He was a smooth talker: "Our movers will arrive in orange uniforms, will place door-frame pads to protect doorways, wear booties in your house to keep it clean, and come with every moving box/pad/wrap imaginable. We'll wrap each frame, furniture, etc with extreme caution. Our liability insurance will cover the cost of even the most minor damage." blah blah blah. He tells you exactly what you want to hear. The truth, as I've discovered, is that they are LIARS. They want your deposit, which they'll refuse to return to you if you want to cancel. Then they hire a couple guys off Craigs List to perform your move. They won't tell you who they're subcontracting until 3-5 days before-hand. These guys then show up late, if at all, won't pack your things like promised, don't even have boxes to do so! Eventually get all your stuff in their truck, then demand more money, cash only, no receipts. Total end-price is ~double original quote. Then they call you every few days on the road, asking for more money. When your things arrive, weeks, sometimes months later (can you IMAGINE?!), items are broken or missing. We're not talking hair dryers; we're talking dining room tables missing! You call First United to talk to Travis Scott again. They'll refuse to let you talk to him. They'll say "He no longer has access to your file." When you call his cell phone that you talked to him on multiple times before...the number's disconnected. He won't respond to your emails. I could go on and on about the horrors of this "company", but all it is really...is A TOTAL SCAM DISGUISED AS A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS. DO NOT MAKE ANY RESERVATIONS with First United.
