Scammer's email[email protected] CountryUnited States Victim LocationVA 24301, USA Total money lost$135 Type of a scamOnline Purchase
I placed an order for a FitBit Versa 2 during a "flash sale" for $135 that would expire in 1 hour. I paid through PayPal. The site looks legitimate. When I tried to print my receipt the page was completely black with ink so I stopped the print and thought I would get an email. When I did not receive a confirmation email within 2 days I became concerned and attempted to find the site and dig through junk email...everything.
I had a difficult time relocating the site. When I did I noticed they are now selling all the FitBit watches for $99 (even the special editions). I clicked on the "follow us on facebook" and when I clicked on all the follow us icons for twitter, etc, I was rerouted to the site page every time. I sent an email with no response from the site. I reviewed my PayPal account and the seller was listed as "lenahicks42" and the owner of this site was Thinh Pham. I then went to my credit card company and they stated that I had to wait nearly 1 week to verify I was not going to receive the item/or response. I was lucky my money was refunded.
I googled the site in which I placed an order for the items and it stated it was high risk for a scam. It was open less than 6 months.
