I opened a new business (GRSA Products, L.L.C) last week. I received several notices for services with non-government agencies soliciting their document services such as EIN, Labor Law Posters, and Certificate of Status....all identifying themselves as "Non-governmental agencies and not affiliated or approved, endorsed or approved by any government entity. This one agency, Business Compliance Division, Tallahassee used what appeared to be a formal 2024 Certificate of Status Request Form that included my business filing number, date of filing, and address. The letter did not identify anywhere on the letter that it was not a government agency and gave a respond by date of 8/14/24 to request and pay for a Certificate of Status. This form presents as more formal and leads the business owner/consumer to question if it is truly a required certificate "...to renew business license, obtain a business loan, open a bank account or for tax and other business purposes."
