The Final Notice (enclosed) appears to be designed to convince recipients that it is from a governmental body. It lists a number of posters that most workplaces are required to display, including those related to the FLSA, OSHA, and various Florida-specific posters. It also cites to the penalty provisions of OSHA and the Employee Polygraph Protection Act. However, the Final Notice does not mention what the $104 payment is supposed to be for---it does not specify that Florida Business Advisory will send me the posters after it receives payment, whether the $104 is supposed to be some kind of governmental registration fee, or whether it is supposed to serve some other purpose beyond "compliances" (sic).
It seems clear that this company is trying to prey on unsophisticated new business owners by scaring them with ambiguous threats of "government fines and/or audits" and then scamming them into making a payment for which they will receive nothing.
