We are a small non-profit in upstate NY and were contacted by email this email address, [email protected], on 1/23/23 who posed as an Event Attendee Specialist for the NJ Fly Fishing Show that took place in Edison, NJ last weekend. We registered for the show and attended. Todd Wayne reached out with the message below. We assumed this was affiliated with the show, corresponded and provided our information to process a payment via the online servicer Payoneer in order to purchase a list of contacts that attended the show. After providing info, we got a confirmation from Payoneer under this email address [[email protected]] that our payment info was received. A list was then sent by Todd Wayne via Excel, but it was a random list of contacts and did not include emails associated with the attendees or businesses of the Fly Fishing Show. We followed up to Todd Wayne with no response. We are working with our bank to reverse or halt the transaction and have also alerted the organizers of the NJ Fly Fishing Show.
