My brother manages shopping centers that rent space to retail shoe stores. He received a Twitter/X advertisement about a running shoe store that was having a going-out-of-business sale. He sent me the link, www.flyrunning.shop. I stupidly assumed that this company was a business that he was associated with, so I purchased shoes from them on January 3, 2024, using a credit card and received an email confirming my order from "On Running <[email protected]>" immediately after the sale. The transaction also posted to my credit card. That was the last contact I had from the seller, and I never received any shoes. On January 22, 2024, I returned to the website where I had ordered the shoes. There was not a phone number listed in the contact section, so I sent an email to "[email protected]" as directed. As soon as I sent an inquiry about a shipment date for the shoes, I received an alert from my email account stating that the message couldn't be sent, because there was no record for the domain. With haste, I reported this as a scam to my credit card company, & they began an investigation. According to written correspondence from the credit card company, the seller refudiated my fraud claim, even sending a fake shipping dossier as "proof." The scam company was identified as tracystalnaker.com. The website where I purchased the shoes no longer exists.</[email protected]>
