Type of a scam Online Purchase
I made a purchased from Foamma.com on April 14th, 2021. The order was for high density foam ($138.61) and I paid through Pay Pal on the website. The payment was processed right away. The web page indicated a 3-7 day shipping. At the time of purchase, I called and personally spoke with their sales representative who confirmed the type of foam. He did not mention any details about potential delays. On April 23rd, 2021 I called back to inquire about my order and the same sales representative came on the phone. He has a very heavy accent and is difficult to understand. He indicated the order had not shipped. He was very impatient and defensive when asked about the delay. A frustrating conversation followed about the timing I would receive my order where I did not get any sense of when I would receive it. After a couple of minutes another person came on the phone who spoke very clear english. She indicated there was a foam shortage and I would need to wait about 3 weeks for my order (this was never brought up at order time) On April 26 I sent a message to Foamma to cancel my order and requested return of my payment. On April 28th I called to confirm that the message was received and to make sure I followed the right procedure according to their policies. The same sales representative came on the phone with the heavy accent he said he would call me back, he did call me right back. He said they had already "cut" my order and he would be sending it tomorrow and that I should call him as a reminder. I tried to inquire how he had cut the foam if there was going to be a 3 week delay in them getting the foam. I could not get a word in as he talked over me. He was offended when I said I could not understand him very well and he hung up on me. On April 28, the same day he hung up on me, I sent a follow-up e-mail outlining our phone conversation and indicating that if he had cut my order then he should send it to me right away. I indicated that in the mean time I would be contacting Pay Pal to enter a claim for a refund of my money though them. Today is May 13, 2021 and I have not received any call, correspondence from Foamma, or my foam. Today I received notice by e-mail that Pay Pal would be refunding my payment made to Foamma. Pay Pal indicated that they had contacted the seller and after not getting any response from Foamma they closed the case in my favor.
