Initially the scammer contacted me through Indeed asking that I apply for a job as a Financial Service Officer for the company looking to hire remote workers in several states due to a growing business. Once I applied to the email per instructions, I was contacted a few days later after calling to ask about my resume with the company. There was a phone interview that seemed reasonably professional in which the interviewer was able to address all the questions I had asked about the position. Afterward, I was told I would be contacted via email for employment. Then I was contacted by [email protected] with a contract for employment, W4 form, and a direct deposit form. Afterward I was told that in 3-4 business days I would be contacted by an email address from focus finance that was no longer, or never, an active email. He informs me that Rachel Nowak will now be my supervisor and that she would be contacting me as soon as possible. When she finally contacted me, several days later, it was to ask that I set up a PayPal if I didn't already have one and to deposit money ($200) into a "new" Coraline LLC account. At that point which point I emailed Ms. Nowak to inform her that I would not be doing that. She sent a threatening emails following up that I would have to pay for the expenses that the company lost. Less than a week later 2 fake bills showed up in the mail. I called the ScamPulse.com to confirm that these businesses also do not exist and the amount for each bill was $87.25 and $109.95 on very official looking paper. It has barcodes, 2 QR codes, perforations, leatherhead, and pretty much everything I would have expected to see on a bill, so I am glad I called to confirm.
