I rented a car through Priceline from Fox Rent A Car. The initial agreement was for $502.81, which I prepaid more than 2 months ahead. At the counter, the agent convinced me to prepay for a tank of gas at a rate of $3.24/gal for a total gas charge of $37.26, as he promised me that they were selling me the gas for much cheaper than I could purchase it from any local filling station. The final receipt indicated that I had only prepaid for 1/2 tank and was charge $8.99/gal for another half tank, despite that fact that the tank was 1/4 full when I returned it. There also were additional fees added on per day, which were not explained to me. The total extra charges amounted to $125.07. of which Fox has agreed to refund me $40.32.
