I had initially attempted to book a stay via Airbnb and had messaged the host named Frances who subsequently called me and told me that she would give me a discount to book if I pay outside of Airbnb. She said that if anything changes, she would refund me and I can even pay her a deposit now and the rest later since she said that she "doesn't care about money." Following our call that same day on 2/22/24 I had trusted what she said and wanted to be considerate and responsible so I sent her via Zelle the entire amount in three parts to cover the entire amount of $11,348 for the March 1-15th for the booking.

Unfortunately an unprecedented near death experience had taken place where I almost died on a private jet to California as the jet filled with gas and we had to turn back after 15 minutes (which I did receive a refund for understandably so.) I was traumatized by this event and unable to travel.

I texted this to the host on March 1st and she has been continuously ignoring me and withholding my money. She then said via text if she books it with another guest on Airbnb that she will refund me and she has indeed booked it with another guest and is denying that she did. (She also has the same identical listing listed in five different ways to maximize her chance of renting and double booking guests while simultaneously concealing that to outside prospective guests.) Airbnb indeed confirmed that she has rented it and profited from another guest for the duration of the booking I had paid for outside of Airbnb and an Airbnb representative named ***** had attempted to reach out to her to try to help me resolve this issue yet she has been unresponsive/ ignoring them as well. It says online that her LLC is suspended.

I have made numerous attempts to try to resolve this amicably and avoid legal proceedings although it seems she is leaving me no other option since she has proven to be a scam by withholding my money as I paid for a service that has not been rendered.

I can provide the entirety of our conversation/text exchange via Whatsapp.

I recently lost my father and I have celiac disease and a benign pituitary tumor. I can't afford more loss or stress. I told her this and she doesn't care. I know it's unrelated but there is no level of humanity being extended here.

I've contacted the Attorney General and will take this to small claims court.
