Sounds like a legitimate scam....

They called me, and wouldn't even tell me who they were until I at least verified my name. I did so. The person then told me who they were, franklin moss and associates. They ask to confirm my social, something I will never do on the phone, only in person and when I refused they became rude, sarcastic, even plain mean. After a very brief Google search, they seem to be a legit company calling for collections cases. My advice is that if I wanted to settle a collections case I may have, I 100% will not be using this "business"!

False Account

Received a call from Franklin and Moss saying I owed a bank balance to 5th/3rd bank from 12 years ago? I have never had an account with them. The lady was yelling at me and threatening to call my employer, threatening to turn me into check systems, and threatening a law suit all against federal law. When I tried to respond to an email she sent to me it didn’t even work😂 Someone needs to hold this company accountable for breaking the Federal Collections Practice Act.

Franklin Moss scammers

Left threatening msg starting they had previously called numerous times with no response (checked history of calls = none). Stated there was a signed affidavit for a civil suit. Tried to get my social security # over phone. Asked for name of client & to provide documents. They became very hostile & told me to educate myself & that's not how it's done. Wanted my social first. My mom is an atty & I worked for an atty for years as well. Beware of this company. States they've been in business for 65 years but have no BBB rating?

Called to say there was a paypal suit against me

Called to say there was a PayPal lawsuit filed against me and to return the call and make things right for my best interest. When I returned the call, they asked for a Steven Waring. Wasn't even me or anyone I know. Threats and scam.

This company called me and left a threatening voice mail stating that an injunction was going to be filed against me and that attorneys were involved. I called back because I thought it had to be a mistake. I don't owe anyone anything. Off the bat "Tina Hall" was very combative. I tried to ask questions to get clarification and she was very rude and insulting. She was telling me that I owed $986.62 for an old 5/3 bank account for over 15+ years ago. She gave me all kinds of excuses as to why I am just learning about it. Said it was charged off and they are trying to collect. Told me if I paid in full today it would be about $300 less. That if I didn't come to agreement with them right away, they would get their team of attorneys to come after me and would file with ChexSystems. Said they would hold my wages, said they would freeze my bank account. At one point I told them, I worked for myself and she said she would "place a lien" against my company. Also said they would ruin my credit. Threat after threat. She got tired of my questions and hung up on me.

I called back and was connected to "her supervisor" whose name was Perry Kennedy? Said he couldn't tell me what the $900+ dollars was for, due to privacy reasons?

I called 5/3 and they confirmed that I closed my account 15+ years ago in good standing and don't owe anything. They put a note on my account of the scam/fraudulent call and told me to disregard them

I'm baffled at to how these people are doing this. They had my last 4 of my social and my old 5/3 account number.

False account

This company contacted me saying they had received my account from a bank I have never had. Said that I owed thousands for a bogus account and that it was in good standings for over 2 years. I called that bank and they said they had no record of me EVER having an account using my name or SS number as verification. When I started to question the “law firm” they became aggressive, threatened to have my case expedited and fines added and then hung up when I still wouldn’t give them my current address.

Was contacted about a old 53rd back account that was closed and paid. this company said that the account was sold to them. Found out the account was closed in 2009 from the bank and that no balance was owed.
