This has happened to my business MULTIPLE times. Emails from doctors, engineers, organizations- requesting emailed quotes for real estate properties recently purchased. They are requesting personal information in order to send "payment" prior to any in person consultations, written and signed estimates for work. Mainly interior painting. These scammers have been getting wiser, making me actually believe this could be true, but my gut tells us this is a scam. Unfortunately, we are worried they could give us a bad review, bc we will not 'collaborate' with their intentions. I have reached out in past to the selling real estate agency to inform them- but unfortunately there is not much they can do. Scammers will sadly get the best of the true honest contractors out there, myself included. Needs to stop somehow.
