Supposedly owed ez money loan from 2018

- Bailey, CO, USA • Sep 06, 2024

First, I declined the call. Then after receiving voice-mail with identifiable personal information I returned the call. I inquired as to who and what this was about, then lost the connection. I called back and asked again. Supposedly I initiated an online cash advance on 04.24.2018 for $500. I declined to make payment because I had no such debt, asking why I'd not previously received any communication regarding this. Supposedly mail was sent to my house. After denying receipt of anything before today the representative verified the last 4 digits my social security number, and physical address while again asking for payment. I then stated that if they could produce documentation in writing of any such transaction or account I would further dispute this debt and that I'd also not found this on my credit report.

was called and told a summons would be coming to my house on Friday 4/5/2024 for a JC penney account. I never had a JC penney account. They argued with me and told me I would be better off setting up a payment plant and getting it paid off. they also told me i had to show a picture ID when the person brining the summons arrived. I contacted JC penny I do not have a account with them. i called the number back and told them that and they said I was lying. Scary situation.

My husband received a call from a conpany saying they were having trouble getting documents delivered to us. When he asked what they were about the person on the phone said he was unable to give out that information. They gave my husband a file number and the comany name Jackson Avery and Associates with a number to call. My husband called the number and gave them the file number he was given. The person on the other end of the phone proceeded to tell my huband he had taken out a pay day advance loan in 2014. That was ten years ago! My husband told them he had no knowledge of this and he felt it was not accurate. They had many details about him including our current address, phone number, and last four of his social. They also had past information inculding his ex wife, thier past address, past place of work, ect. However they information they gave him did not add up time wise. They told him the loan he had taken out at 625 had compounded interest over the past ten years reaching just over 2000$! They said we could counter offer and probably settle for the original $625. My husband again said he did not recognize this transaction and that he wanted to discuss it with me. They agreed to call back tomorrow. After researching both businesses that called we have come to find out this is a massive SCAM! We will see if they call back tomorrow. These scams are getting scary good with how much information they possessed! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

I initially received a call from (307) 400-3752 from an 'Alex Gomez' telling me the call was an urgent matter that the firm had received a complaint about me, and that I needed to respond immediately because it was regarding a time-sensitive matter. I spoke with 3 different people in 3 separate phone calls. Each gave me different information about the fraudulent debt. They had all my personal information. I contacted the FTC and they told me the calls had all the earmarks of fraud, but to try to get more information. I was initially told I had received a PayDay loan in 2016 for over 2,000.00. The next time I called I was told the debt was for Security Service Credit Union (not a PayDay loan). The last call I made was directed to a man identifying himself as Robert Duke. He said he was the head of the law firm. After telling him I had received conflicting details from 3 of the previous people I had spoken to, he said sometimes people read things wrong. Once I told him I had contacted the FTC, the credit reporting agency to put a fraud alert on my credit, and after contacting my bank, he said; 'You sound sincere so what I am going to do is throw this away right now and you will never hear from us again." I told him I knew they were attempting fraud and that I was also filing a complaint with BBB. He laughed and said; "Go ahead. I pay them 800 dollars a month to give me a good rating, so I am not worried." I told him I would also add what he had just told me about paying ScamPulse.com to give him a good rating and he again laughed." These crooked entities get away with this fraud because our government does nothing to stop them, nor do they make it illegal for PlayStores to keep selling new phone numbers to these scammers!!

Stated this is a debt in which I co-signed a 2003 Ford Windstar Minivan for someone I don't even know. I asked tem to send me a copy of my ID and they said once I was "served" all the information would be included in the documents. They would be garnishing my wages and also putting a lean on my car. They have all my personal information including my social security number, home address, etc which is very scary. I also received an email from them requesting payment. HELP PLEASE!!!!

Scammer repeated sent text messages, using a false phone number, that does not match the legitimate business of the used name. They also used a shortened URL that does not appear to match one listed on the real company’s website.

- Hempstead, NY, USA

Scammer left a voice mail on my phone that I was going to be served with a summons and if I didn't respond to the voice mail they will escalate and consider it a failure to be served. When I called the # they said I had an outstanding debt on a credit card I didn't recall and that it was referred to collections in 2017. They said they mailed me notification and couldn't mail it again but would email the info re the debt. When I received the email it appeared fishy. The company's name wasn't in the email address, the company logo in the body of the email didn't link back to the company's website. I also found it odd that the email said not to forward it on. I called my credit card company, they said no such old debt appears on my report and that I have and excellent credit rating. If I had an outstanding debt my score wouldn't be what it is.

- Springfield, IL, USA

They called me and the lady who I was talking to her name was Anna Lopez told me about a civil matter from a credit card that I had back in 2013. She said that if I didn’t get on a payment plan they were going to garnish my wages and seize assets. I told her to email me the paperwork because I didn’t feel comfortable giving my information over the phone. She emailed me the paperwork and it looks fake but I don’t really know if it is.

- Leadville, CO, USA

Tried to tell me they took ove my debt, had no bank liens or tax form on me at this time. Needed to call back before the interest rate increased

Male keeps calling my husband and family members stating looking for me as my maiden last name stating collecting a debt, repeated calls to my in laws and my husband but never my phone and noting on the mail. Third call stated if he did not hear from anyone he would file a legal judgment on my check. I called back and asked for the company and stated I would report to the ScamPulse.com for a scam call and harassing.
