On Facebook Marketplace, person A says his sister asked him to post an ad that she is giving away a Yamaha baby grand piano. Gave email contact to his sister, Dr. Ashley Daunkontas. Two weeks later, she emails back saying the piano was her late husband’s and he would not want her to sell it and it makes her sad to look at it, and wants to give it to someone who is passionate about music. And that the first lady she was giving the piano to did not show up, and she had to have a mover ship piano with her other “properties” to her next location, but can contact the mover to reroute if I would “make arrangements”/pay for the shipping. She also asked to be updated. The “shipping company”’s 24/7 chat then asked for address, gave a quote, and asked for payment right there and then to be sent to a personal Gmail account. I was not comfortable doing that. i emailed “Dr. Dakota’s” and she said she did pay the movers with PayPal. The English in the correspondences with this person showed some strange grammar/wordings and became increasingly poor. I emailed her saying they are scammers. No response since.

Individual by the name of “Jessica”emailed offering her late husband’s grand piano. She didn’t want money for the piano herself but said her movers were very reasonable and that I could schedule with them. She gave me a reference code for when I emailed the movers.

The moving company Metroleads Logistics & Freight Forwarding was quick to respond, however only offered PayPal or Zelle payment options and required me to pick one so they could prepare the invoice.

I figured out this was a scam but it’s definitely an elaborate one.
