I contacted what was known as Fresh Prince Cavalier, King Charles Breeders on May 5th to gain more insight into what I thought was their breeding program. Thus began an email correspondence that lasted until today, May 9th. The individual with whom I communicated via email during these days did not disclose a name, but did insist on being a breeder of cavalier king charles spaniel dogs for 22 years, having AKC breeding registration for these puppies, providing heart, eye and joint clearances for these puppies. Puppies were priced at $600 per dog with a transport fee of $200. The total for the puppy that I thought I would be receiving was $800. The transaction was completed yesterday, 5/8/20, where I sent $800 to the alleged breeder named Gavin Pullman through Zelle via the email address of [email protected] with "For Becky" as the memo. I was then contacted by email after this transaction assuring me that my puppy would arrive this evening, 5/9/20. This morning, I was contacted by what was supposed to be the puppy transport third party company requesting an additional $1000 to be sent to the same account via Zelle so that the puppy would receive an appropriate air conditioned carrier for transport to my home in Pittsburgh, PA. I pushed back on this stating that this seemed "shady" and both the alleged third party and the breeder ensured me that this was part of the process. I continued to protest via email and the breeder then dropped the price of the transport carrier to $600. At this point, I began to dig further into the breeder and back-searched the images on their website--which I found to be stock images of cavalier king charles spaniel dogs non-specific to any breeding program. Moreover, I found that their website URL https://www.karismatcavalierhom.com/ was listed as a scam puppy breeder online. When I saw this, I immediately contacted my bank in an attempt to stop the transaction from yesterday. Additionally, I emailed the alleged breeder back asking to postpone my purchase to which they denied stating that I was "already registered" for the dog and that if anything happened to the puppy I "would be held responsible". I have since also filed a police report.

Was promised a puppy after paying 800 via zelle. The following day contacted by bogus shipping company telling me I needed to send another $1250 for a special crate. Realized I was scammed tried to call back the number for a refund the number was disconnected.

Wow this is so sad and cruel. I was also interested in one of their puppies. However, I became suspicious when I realized they failed to disclose their whereabouts. I know it is not always possible but it is actually very important to physically visit the breeders home to regard the condition of the mother and all the puppies before agreeing to purchase one. Unfortunately, they are perhaps using Covid pandemic as an excuse to prevent this and perpetuate this scam. I’m so sorry this happened to all of you
