The owner specified that he needed a Zelle payment, but my Zelle is with my credit union and hasn't been working ever. So I sent a Paypal payment to the email address provided "[email protected]" and they said to take it back and use a different email address for Paypal. "Irene Otieno [email protected]".
That went through and then I decided I wanted to bring the pup home sooner than later and asked about arranging delivery. This time they insisted on Zelle, and I called my bank to have them figure that out. The contact for that account was "Ivan Ross [email protected]".
The delivery was scheduled and I received an email from the "shipping company" with her tracking number and her delivery status. they called to say she would arrive at 5:30p. At 5:42p I received another email saying that there was an unexpected mandatory insurance required on the dog due to new "COVID" restrictions and that if I wanted my dog I needed to Zelle $1500. This is unfortunately the part where I realized the situation.
When I called the "shipping company" they said I needed to work it out with my seller. He said he was at the agency shipping someone else's puppy and sent me a picture of a dog crate in the car with a seatbelt through it. He sent me two more addresses to send money to: "Vinah Mariita
[email protected]" and "Ouma Aguko
[email protected]".
At this time I was messaging all of my family and friends who'd known about this hopeful new arrival, and my sister filled out an "inquiry" for the same puppy as she was still on the website with an updated image. The owner messaged her with another price and started to engage in arranging a purchase.
