Total money lost $550
Type of a scam Online Purchase
(different from original Zelle account used) name- LASHUNDRA ROZIER
(account name) and [email protected]
After initial contact, all contact done by text message (from above scammer phone). 1st stated price was $600 for puppy. Then scammer asked for $150 additional (they stated vaccinations). Ok. Sent $400 by Zelle to funparkpugpuppies. Verified at that time that total was $750 and we owed $350. Received confirmation (in writing- text). Then scammer wanted the $150 upfront & send to secondary name & account (above). Asked specifically AGAIN for confirmation that the balance was now “just” $200 and we would pay that in cash when we picked the puppy up. Text message reply was “yes- that’s confirmed.” The balance of $350, then $200 was restated in 3 separate texts. The night before we were scheduled to pick up the puppy, (I texted them for confirmation that we were coming) they texted me back asking if we were ready to settle on the “FEEDING FEE” $310. This is a deceptive sales practice. This fee was never disclosed nor agreed to. A reputable business would not spring a large never discussed fee like this at the last minute. I specifically asked them at the beginning to “itemize” the complete charges and was texted that it was $600 plus $150 for shots.
I deposited $400 to the first account & $150 to the secondary listed above. Not only this but, when I pointed out that they were trying to hold me hostage for another $310, the text messages became insulting.
Please find these people & hold them to account for their thieving despicable ways.
