Type of a scam Tech Support
when she returned the monitor read, “Your computer has been hacked and is locked, however,
we have the software to remove the bug. Call us, P. C. Safe Pro, at ???-???-???? and we can
unlock it for you.” I put in question marks as she didn’t write down the number.
She called the number and was told the charge would be $253.85, which she charged to her
Bank of America card. When I returned home I called Apple and told them what had happened.
They advised us it was a scam and if we had just shut the computer off and then turned it on
that message would have disappeared.
The next day we called Bank of America and told them
what had happened. We were told the payment had already been forward to the caller’s bank
but they would look into it. We assumed that would be the end of it, wrong.
Last week I answered the phone and a man said he wanted to talk to me about our complaint. I
told him we had called Capitol One and told them to stop payment. I then told him he was a
hacker and hung up. The man I talked to spoke excellent English but with an accent.
When I
told my wife about the call she said the same thing about the person to whom she had spoken.
Today we received a letter from Bank of America. I am enclosing a copy so I won’t quote from it.
I googled R.C. Safe Pro and found they were a subsidiary of Fusion Tech Software. So I googled
Fusion Tech Software and wow.
I found a site for Fusionteo Software, and it was loaded with
information, such as Fusiontec’s address.

I did a reverse telephone look up on 91-9841699963, and to my surprise it is a legitimate
number.
For a fee the reverse look up site would have given me the owner’s name and address.
When I entered 044-2532024/6555005, the reverse look up site read, number not recognized.
