Victim Location34957 Total money lost$25.98 Type of a scamFake Invoice/Supplier Bill
Offered a free 10% savings presented as a "rewards type card" my son's personal information was collected while surreptitiously collecting the debit card info that was used make the legitimate purchase at the counter.
After that the debit card was used to make a continuous $11.99 monthly subscription that was collected without being told of this recurring fee. The debit number was ALSO used by the company to purchase an unwanted magazine subscription.
FYE appears to be a legitimate business in malls around the country but they are using this scam on everyone. Ironically the product purchased was MUCH less then the charges made unknowingly for several months afterwards.
This isn't just happening at FYE stores in Florida but because the ScamPulse.com does not recognize FYE as a franchise operating nationwide, it was difficult to even search this business on the ScamPulse.com website, much less, make a global complaint on this store.
Take a look at the "benefits offered for this monthly recurring purchase customers are not told about...https://www.fyevip.com/ Not exactly impressive, huh?
What a "great" scam to use a legitimate business and to pretend to offer a "rewards" type membership which is being offered by everyone these days. If they get $11.99 "monthly" from every customer before they see the charge on their bank statement and cancel, they can make a lot of money scamming every innocent person signing up for "rewards" and a 10% discount at the register.
Ridiculous and wrong.
ScamPulse.com can you please make this scam at FYE stores searchable to everyone looking? I am sure there are many more young victims out there!
