Scammer tried to hire our lawn care service to do clean up and weekly lawn mowing. Our team went out to provide a quote for services and he approved but said he was out of town and was going to “pre-pay services” and send me a cashiers check for the amount of $780 plus an additional $2,000 that he owed the previous owner before we did the service. I had a real estate friend look up the address in county records and the house was for sale but when she contacted the real estate broker representing the owner, they said the owner knew nothing about it, nor was the scammer’s name on the property records.
