I received a call from an unknown # saying I would served for a debt collection between 1200-1700 on 2/14. They called at 11 AM. The voicemail said if I have questions I need to take it up with the collector and to call 1-888-608-5430. The process server left me a case # too which I thought would violate my privacy. I called the # and spoke with Amanda. She said she was with Gaffney Mediation Services and they received a debt in my name for a "visa card." They also listed the last 4 of my SSN and my address and my previous address to that. I asked them to send me a validation of debt and they said the collector already sent one and refused to send it again to me. They urged me to work out a payment plan. Then said I must pay with a bonded check and they asked for my checking acct # and routing #. I hung up and called after hours to see what their voicemail said. Their voicemail said they were "GMS Group." So I googled GMS group and emailed that company directly. I asked them if that # was associated with their company and they said absolutely not and suspected fraud. I have not received anything in the mail regarding a debt and I have not heard back from anyone (24 hours later) regarding this "debt" so I think they knew I was on to them. I also googled Gaffney Mediation Services. and nothing comes up, so that was a red flag as well.

I need you to be advised that I have a request to the place you on my schedule to sign off on the certify notice of intent regarding the pending claim has been filed against the following parties number is 1-833-835-9695 again that's 1-833-835-9695 case number ages and Heather hours and Roman 402434 Dash 3347…”

I called this number. They are trying to say there is a claim against me regarding a credit card I paid off years ago.
