I informed him that I did need to have repairs made and that if he wanted to schedule an appointment to assess the damage and do an
estimate for repairs we could do that. Appointment for estimate was scheduled for 2/4/21, for which he arrived late and appointment was
rescheduled for 2/5/21. He assured me he would be at my home by 10:00 am on 2/5/21, he did not arrive until 3:30 pm. After estimate was
completed and accepted he returned on Saturday 2/6/21 in order to pickup a deposit/down payment for the scheduled work. He informed me that he would be picking up materials that weekend and be at my home to start work on Monday morning, 2/8/21. Monday morning he
never showed up. At 10 am on Monday, he sent me a text saying that he was picking up materials and would be at my home that afternoon. Again, he never showed up. At 6 pm Monday he sent me a text that was clearly meant for someone else, stating
that he'd be at their home Tuesday morning to start work, naturally I was somewhat concerned and confused. Tuesday,2/9/21, he again
never shows up. He sent me a text at noon on Tuesday,2/9/21, that he didn't come out that a.m. as he was waiting for the rain to pass.
Monday 2/8/21 & Tuesday 2/9/21 were both sunny days, it never rained anywhere in Louisiana. Wednesday 2/10/21, he again does not show up. By now I was fairly convinced that I'd been had. I sent him a text at noon on Wednesday 2/10/21 stating that since it had become clear to me that he had neither the resources for, or intention of, performing the repairs to my home that I would require my
deposit/down payment be returned and that I would no longer require his services. He texted me in reply stating that he would be at my
home on Thursday 2/11/21 in order to "do as I wished". Thursday, he never shows up but instead calls to inform me that his mother has had a stroke during the past few days (strange that I didn't hear of this until I stated that I wanted my Deposit back) and to ask if he could come out Friday 2/12/21 to start work. I replied that due to his constant tardiness, false assurances and no shows that I, again, no longer
require his services and that I require my Deposit be returned, He assured me he would be at my home Friday,2/12/21, afternoon in order to return my deposit. Of course Friday, he never showed up. Basically, once I gave him a Deposit/Down payment for the work, I never saw him again. As a followup, he had also informed me that he was Licensed & Insured. However, after contacting the Louisiana
State Licensing Board for Contractors, who has no record of issuing Licenses to Gallo Home Services Lc, I now know that he is not Licensed and likely not insured. I am in the process of seeking legal recourse.
