I received a job offer from Garnet Events. It posed as a "Marketing Company". I was promised $10.00 an hour or commission which ever was higher. I worked for them for 2 months and put in several hours. I never got a full pay check. When I did the math for the how much I was actually making it was around $2.00 an hour. You have have to split the commission with everyone else working and even though that leaves you with less than minimum wage they claim it is accurate.

I received an email indicating I had applied for a job to a company named Garnet Events (I did not), and after indicating I had applied to a job, the email explains they found my information during a search for potential employees on Career Builder, and they would like to meet with me and would be happy to tell me what job I am being considered for during the interview. The name Alma Allende is the person listed as the emailer and point of contact, however, when checking the validity of the company it indicates no such company exists in the Huntsville, AL area at the address indicated, and the phone number is actually registered to a Dorothy Sullivan and has been associated with a Rebecca Sullivan and Brian Roberts. Also, the address associated with the phone number is different from the one given in the email, and is residential not commercial. I have gotten several calls which I blocked from someone claiming to be Alma. When I attempted to respond to the email, the security software on my computer, indicated there was an attempted security threat to my computer by my clicking to respond to the email, my security software shut down everything and removed what ever was attempting to install on my computer. I took my computer to local company who confirmed there were no threats on my laptop (I dodged a nightmare). Please let others who may upload their resume onto Career Builder to beware of this employment scam. I emailed Career Builder about this, and they have not yet responded. I have removed my information from their website, career builder Coach, which is supposed to be a safe way to find the right employment fit.
