I was contacted to prep an LOI and then move on to full application is granted. I require a retainer for 20 hours. I did the work and set up account on secure gov site for a million dollar plus grant application. When i came time for additional hours they did not respond, I also had trouble getting the organization to understand the complexities of a million-dollar grant from Research.gov, they continually failed to provide information, then when I cancelled the additional payment request and declined to move forward with them as a client they became belligerent, unaccepting of the situation, involved race in the conversation then charged back for refund from PayPal saying I did not do the work. I did and they event went to Research.gov and said unauthorized use of EUI and caused my account to be locked thereby erasing all the work on the application I had done. A grant like that can take months to prepare, since I am fimilliar with the grant applications from that funder (over 25 years as a grant writer nationwide) I was comfident I could have it done by its 12/31/24 deadline. I believe it was thier intention all along to charge back no matter the outcome and have heard they have done the same and have stopped payment on checks used to pay for services stating they have not gotten what they requested.
