Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill
SQUAD sbsqbsubsabsd ON DUTY 24 HOURS
in the amount of $464.71 reflecting that our Subscription is extended with a (9) Digit Numerical Order ID Number.
We were being assessed a (3) Year Subscription for LiveSafe™ for $453.69
We were also assessed a VAT TAX of approximately 2.43% which equated to $11.02
The telephone number for the Customer Help Desk was listed as: 802-221-0059.
When we contacted the Customer Help Desk, the phone was answered by a gentleman with a foreign accent who did not identify himself with Best Buy or Geek Squad, and who assisted us with software downloads from the Internet for a Cancellation & Refund Form. We downloaded Support@LogMeIn Rescue and Team Viewer Set-Up X64.
We completed all of the information required on the Cancellation & Refund Form by following all of his instructions relayed to us, until we realized that "something" just "didn't feel right" when Mr. Peter Smith, as he had further identified himself indicated that we would be receiving a telephone call back with regards to processing our Cancellation & Refund Request.
Additionally, we had verified that we had not been charged on our VISA Card, and no ACH had been processed against our Checking Account, either.
We followed up by blocking their phone number, and by uninstalling the software that we had downloaded. Additionally, we contacted the BBB.
