They sold a Ge filter without the chip in it and want you to just take a chip from the old one and put it on the new one to trick the refrigerator. Spent $58 and cant use filters. They stopped accepting emails.

I bought a water filter from https://www.gefilterparts.com/product/ge-official-rpwfe-refrigerator-water-filte...⇄ expecting to receive a genuine GE water filter, as the website implies. When I put the water filter in my refrigerator, it wouldn't work because it is a counterfeit part and doesn't have the GE RFID chip required to make it work. I emailed their customer support asking to return it for a refund, and they responded with a request for images showing the problem. I sent the images showing that its a counterfeit part, and they sent back instructions on how to take the RFID chip out of the water filter being replaced and put it in the new counterfeit water filter. I emailed back and said I still wanted to return it for a full refund, and they responded that the best they could do is a 60% refund. This company should not be allowed to do business because if they fooled me, a middle aged software engineer, I'm sure they've tricked hundreds or thousands of other people into buying counterfeit parts.

The website is called GE Filter Parts, but the business name I sent money to via PayPal is "Boutique of wonders". The address on the package I received is:
