I got a real notice from Gieco about my policy payment and I googled "gieco" to call and make a payment. They answered the phone immediately which made me hesitant to share my personal information. I asked them seven times if i'm speaking with Gieco Insurance Company and they said "yes" multiple times. I gave them my phone number and they pulled up my policy details, which were correct so I preceded with payment. I also expressed concern in the phone number, "Jason" reassured me that Gieco has multiple phone numbers for the United States and reassured me that he was Gieco. After I gave my card information and mailing address, I asked again if it was Gieco and he said yes. After the payment was processed, I received a fraud alert text from my bank with the $225.75 total from "Discount Connect." I shared this with the person I was speaking with still tried to tell me that this is Gieco and to say "yes" to my bank to process the payment. I said no and requested a new card. I called a different Gieco number from the website and when speaking with a representative, they confirmed that they do not work with a "Discount Connect" company and that I was almost scammed. Insurance policies are incredibly confidential and this "organization" should be shut down.
