I found a car that I was interested in buying from the car site Classic Cars for Sale (topclassicsale.com) at the following web address: http://topclassiccarsforsale.com/triumph/93844-1962-triumph-tr3b-very-rare.html . After expressing interest, the seller contacted me several weeks later noting that he working in the oil business and was in remote locations but was interested to sell the car with the following email:
Hi!
Hope this email finds you well!I apologize for taking so long to respond but I work 16hr shifts and I didn't see it until now. Thank you for your patience all this while. You inquired about my car and I hope you are still interested. The car is being sold as described, clean and clear title, no mechanical or electrical issues, never damaged in an accident, flood, or fire. The car is ready for the road and was recently serviced. You can buy it for $24,800. I work overseas for Schlumberger on an oil rig and my contract ends in February 2021. Then I have another 2 years agreement starting from March 2021 so the car is no more useful to me. This is the single reason for selling.
I have arranged for the sale of the vehicle before leaving the states so if you want to find out more details about how we can close up this deal, or if you want more pictures do not hesitate to contact me and I will respond at my earliest convenience.

After much back and forth, we agreed on the sale - he referred me to gemsalesinc.com - a broker that would handle the wire transfer (amount would be put in escrow until I accepted the car). They sent a contract for me to sign and asked that I conduct a wire transfer. Once completed, gemsalesinc.com was pulled down and the salesman at gemsales inc is nowhere to be found!.....as is my money.

They also say they have someone who will transport and broker/escrow the sale and the money. This person is the person who they will talk to and email with, his name is Dan.
They then take or try to get you to send money via SWIFT (International bank account - obviously). One person already sent money to the scammers but we did not get all the information from her.
We have been hearing about this because they are using our business name and a building the business owns as their front, so people are looking up the business and calling the owners.
We are GEM Partners which owns commercial real estate in Seattle, WA, they own the office building at 221 1st Ave W, Seattle, which is where this auto dealer says they are located (no suite number and there is no place for a dealer to be located at).
