I just recieved a text from Stephanie Neves from GENESCO Inc. offering me a job at $25/hr as a Data Entry Analyst. They said they saw my resume through Indeed. My resume is private to employer searches. I recently applied to a position to a company NESC Staffing for an Order Administrator. Like 30 mins later I get this text. Same number as others have posted 412-460-9318. I haven't replied yet but feel like jerking them around a little.

I too had a similar experience although I did not let it go far enough to where I received a check. I contacted GENESCO Inc. directly due to errors. First they sent an offer letter from Pacific States Insulation and Acoustical Contracting. I informed them they sent me the wrong document. They then sent me the offer letter from GENESCO Inc. I looked up the company contact information and called to confirm that the hiring process was correct. She was very nice and informed me that this process is not correct and was a scam, to not pursue further. I would recommend you do research, although it seems that no harm was done they did get some information from me. Where I live, cell, phone number, and my name. Luckily I didn’t give them my full legal name. If you are contacted by Charlotte Dawson 1-412-460-9318 and she gives you direction to download Telegram to contact Chris Walker, or any format like this, it’s a scam. I filled out a job application through indeed and then received a text and invite through google hangouts for a job interview. After answering job related questions was told I got the job and would be sent a laptop through FedEx and the next day received a check for $3,500 and told to purchase the laptop and other office supplies. At that point I said I was not comfortable with that and communication stopped. I took the check to the fraud department at my bank and reported it.

i was contacted by this person to inform me they would like to interview me for a job at genesco, inc. i applied for on UPwork. total interview was done on google hangouts. i was offered the job at 40$/hour and was told i was to receive a check to purchase software online (with a $200 sign up bonus for me). the cashiers check total was $2, 650.00, which i deposited into my bank account. thankfully my bank put a hold on the check which prompted me to do some online research. the check was fake, the job nonexistent. luckily for me i contacted my bank with my suspicions and they labeled me as a victim of fraud and i was only charged a $15 returned check fee, and my account was left intact. i got off easy and it scares me when i think of how bad this situation could've become.
