I felt funny because a lot of the paperwork looked (unkempt) and not quite profession. Weird spacing and so odd typing errors. The check came with my name on it, and that’s when things got weird. They asked not to deposit the check with my bank directly but to deposit it through an ATM. That sounded odd to me. Again i asked for the vendor name for the equipment, but they said they couldn’t tell me.
I asked them for a company Tax ID, and it was clear they didn’t know what I was talking about. I asked for direct contact info for the company, and again no info. I asked if I could talk to him directly is his company phone, he said he didn’t have one and tried to call me via Skype. At that point it was clear to me this was wrong and I informed them that I wanted to return the check ASAP and for them take me
Out of their system. In reverse he said he contacted the FBI for stealing the money from their company. Mind you I still have the check in my possession and have made numerous attempts to send it back to them. I asked for an address or anything, and offered to mail it next day just to get rid of them.
