I signed up for the shopping assignment online via response to an e-mail for mystery shoppers part time employment positions. Shortly thereafter (2-3 weeks) I receive a text message from Russel Hollar ###-###-#### informing me to expect my first assignment. What I received in the mail was exactly what I expected considering the communications. I checked my box on Wed. Mar. 30th, 2016 and found that I had received a priority mail envelope. Inside the priority mail envelope was and envelope from Shop the World Mystery Shoppers. This envelope contained a letter of instructions (work assignment) and check for $ 1487.22. The instructions were to deposit the check into my account and withdraw the same amount 24 hours later. Check amount $1487.22. $160.22 was the commission for the assignment. $35.00 was allocated for the dining assignment and $1292.00 ($600.00/location & 46.00/transaction) was allocated for the western union assignment. The assignment was split into two parts. Part 1: FAST FOOD RESTAURANT ASSIGNMENT & Part 2: WESTERN UNION ASSIGNMENT. Part 1 included dining and critiquing the experience. Part 2 included evaluating the money transfer service at two western unions. Completed evaluations were to be e-mailed to the contact e-mail. I completed the assignments and submitted the evaluations (Part 1: 4/2/16 & Part 2: 4/3/16) via e-mail contact information as instructed. I later noticed that the e-mail delivery attempts were returned unable to deliver. On 4/4/16 while reviewing my account online I noticed a pending debit on my account for $1487.22 + $20.00 return fee. I went to the bank immediately to inform them of the situation. The bank representative kindly apologized for my misfortune and stated that I had been a victim of a scam. The bank representative suggested filing a complaint with the USPS Post Master. I went directly to the Post Office and was informed that the mail-fraud complaint complaint process had to be completed online. I completed the online complaint and decided to contact the Delaware BBB as well.
