My son is a student at UCLA and was looking for an apartment to rent. He used the website zumper.com to find an apartment, and he found a condo that was very cheap to rent ($575 per month) in the Beverly Glen area close to UCLA. The pictures included on the website were of a beautifully furnished, one bedroom condo in a large residential complex. My son got an immediate response from George Sigounas that he was accepted to rent the condo; however the owner was out of town and wouldn't be in town, so my son would need to send first month's rent and security deposit by Western Union, and his keys would be mailed to him. The payment instructions are as follows:

Wire payment to George Sigounas, Las Vegas, NV 89166

We recognized that something was amiss with wiring money somewhere, and not meeting the owner in person. My concern is that these scam artists may target another student or someone else who is unsuspecting and desperate to move. I also do not believe the doctor that is said to be the owner is aware that this scam is taking place. We googled George Sigounas, and it looks like he has a legitimate biography. I hope you are helpful in stopping these scammers from deceiving anyone else.
