I received a misleading bill/letter from this company stating that to complete the registration of my business, I need to send them $67.50 via check or online via there misleading website. The letter is an attempt to resemble an official state form. Do not fall for this scam. If you completed the registration through the official state website you do not need to pay this company.

This company targeted our business through a direct mailing. The letter stated that to avoid late fees we should complete the annual registration through them. Since our business relationship is directly with the State of GA and we file an annual report with the state of GA, the letter from the Georgia Business Compliance Service seemed bothersome, however we questioned if there was something we missed in our compliance with GA's requirements. We knew that we had just filed our annual report in January and the letter was received in February 2021. We called the GA Secretary of State office who confirmed that we were paid to date and compliant and that they did not know who the company was and why they sent the letter. Also, the letter from the Scammer stated we had to pay more for the registration ($135 as opposed to $50 to file directly with the State of GA). There was no phone number listed on the letter to call to confirm that this was legitimate. We are irritated that we were led to believe that we would owe late fees and were not compliant with the State of GA. The letter quoted GA code and law to appear to be legitimate. Only by reading in detail at the bottom, did we find out that this is a filing service whose website was listed two ways in the letter. The first one could not be found (www.georgiacompliance.com) and the second one (Georgiacompliance.org) loaded and asked for information and authorization for payment. No company name or phone number appeared on this page either. Their mailing address was googled and found to be a UPS store lockbox. Please help stop companies like this from taking money through underhanded and unclear mailings that target businesses and mislead them into paying for something they do not need and create additional work to confirm they are thieves in disguise.

Our location is home to two different companies. We received two mailing regarding our upcoming Annual Registrations for GA. The mailings indicated that we needed to respond by 2/12/2021 (even though our Annual Registration is not due until 3/31/2021). Additionally, they requested a payment by check in the amount of $135.00 (even though our fee is $50.00).
